FAQ

Where are enum values documented for the Upbooks API?

The Data documentation lists enums and identifiers by module (Admin, Pre-sales, Sales, Purchase, Finance, HR, Projects). Open Enums and use the table of contents to jump to the entity you need.

What is the difference between tax treatment on a line and GST treatment on expenses?

Tax treatment (e.g. GST, VAT, Sales Tax) describes how a transaction is classified for tax on sales-related flows. Purchase and expense flows use country-specific treatment codes; use the country selector on the GST Treatment section to see supported codes per region.

How do I find sales tax or US-style treatments?

Open the GST Treatment section, choose USA in the country dropdown, and review codes such as taxable purchase (vendor charged), use tax, resale exempt, and exempt organization.

Why does the states list use a country dropdown?

State and province names are stored per country. The interactive list filters subdivisions from the same source the product uses so you see only relevant values for the country you select.

What is in the Generic List page?

Generic List covers shared reference data such as countries, currencies, applicable tax labels by region, and state/province subdivisions via the country selector.

How do I report a missing enum or country subdivision?

Contact Upbooks support with the entity name, expected code, and region. The documentation is updated as the product reference data expands.
